Crocodile Gold Corporation is an international mining and exploration company focused on safely meeting production targets and sustainable growth.  The company owns and operates the Stawell and Fosterville Gold Mines in central Victoria and also has operations in the Northern Territory.

Stawell Gold Mines is located at Stawell, a well serviced and situated town of approximately 6,300 residents in regional Victoria, 250km west of Melbourne.  It is only a fifteen minute drive from the picturesque Grampians National Park and sixty minutes from the larger regional centre of Ballarat.

Stawell Gold Mines invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the position of Environment and Community Officer / Advisor. The purpose of this position is to assist the Environment and Community Superintendent to maintain the environmental management systems and community relations activities.

Reporting to the Environment and Community Superintendent

The key responsibility areas of this position include:

  • Monitoring, reviewing and reporting on site environmental and social performance
  • Maintaining site environmental systems and procedures
  • Assisting with community relations activities
  • Providing advice, support and environmental service to site personnel
  • Provide assistance to Environmental & Community Superintendent on a daily basis as required
  • Ensure all site environmental and social monitoring is undertaken on time and of a high standard.

The successful applicant should possess the following:

  • A tertiary qualification in Environmental Sciences
  • Excellent communication / public relations skills
  • Ability to respond/complete requested projects within deadlines
  • Sound computer skills including proficiency in Excel, MapInfo and Word Processing
  • Previous mining experience would be advantageous

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

Stawell Gold Mines invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for a Laboratory Technician fixed-term position. The successful applicants must be hardworking, self-motivated and reliable with a strong focus on safety.

Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform all aspects of routine metallurgical test work
  • Prepare all geological and metallurgical samples
  • Perform all routine assaying tasks as required
  • Participate in site safety systems
  • Other duties as required

The successful applicant should possess the following:

  • A current Victorian Manual Driver’s Licence
  • Previous Laboratory  Experience would be advantageous
  • The ability to pass a full company medical including drug and alcohol screening.

Computer, literacy and numeracy skills, as well as attention to detail are skills that are highly regarded for this position. This position may involve heavy manual handling.  A commitment to working safely, strong communication skills and an ability to understand and implement site policy and procedures are prerequisites.

The position may involve working an even time roster (four on four off) inclusive of weekends and public holidays.  Each shift is 12 hours duration.

UNDERGROUND LABOURERS

Stawell Gold Mines invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for Underground Labourers Fixed-Term positions. The successful applicants must be experienced, hardworking, self-motivated and reliable and have a strong focus on safety.
The key responsibility areas of this position include:
The primary purpose of this role is to safely install and maintain the Mine Infrastructure as per the current grading.  UGL-G2-P4 Means an employee who is considered to be an experienced operator who consistently demonstrates quality workmanship and acceptable to high output in the areas of:

• Rock handling with both manual & remote loaders
• Rock handling with trucks;
• Mine Services and Construction
• Nipper duties

The successful applicant should possess the following:
• A current Victorian Heavy Ridged Driver’s Licence
• Previous Underground Mining Experience would be advantageous
• The ability to pass a full company medical including drug and alcohol screening.
The position involves working an even time roster (four on four off) inclusive of weekends and public holidays. Each shift is 12 hours duration.
