UG Mine Surveyor

Crocodile Gold Corporation’s NT Operations are seeking a qualified Mine Surveyor to join our Underground mining team. This is an exciting and hands on role which will enable you to gain invaluable experience in your chosen career.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking of daily survey tasks as directed by the UG Senior Mine Surveyor
  • Management of the survey department database
  • Supply line and grade information for underground headings
  • Survey underground as-builts workings and update as required
  • Report on end of month volumes and advances.
  • Stope CMS surveys
  • EOM stockpile and general surface GPS work

To be successful in this position you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Surveying. Mine surveying preferred but not essential.
  • 1 to 3 year previous underground mine surveying experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written & verbal), and organisational skills.
  • An ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Computer literate in office products and mining software packages -  Surpac experience would be an advantage
  • Familiar with Leica survey instruments 1200 series, 1200 and Viva GPS, and the Optech CMS
  • Prior field experience and the ability to work in the field with minimal supervision
  •  A professional ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to deliver.

Graduate Metallurgist

Crocodile Gold NT Operations are currently seeking a Graduate Metallurgist to join their Processing Department at their Union Reefs Processing Plant.

The Graduate Metallurgist position is part of the Processing Department. Under the guidance of the Metallurgist this position is responsible for the technical support for the production of gold at the NT Operation’s Union Reefs Processing facilities.

Key Role Objectives

  • Compliance with all safety and environmental systems and processes at the mine site.
  • Completion of graduate development program.
  • Assist in plant and laboratory operation through learning and operating each section.
  • Provide technical support for plant operational performance through reviewing operational data, taking samples and conducting relevant test work.
  • Assist in the administration of metallurgical accounting duties and reporting.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvement projects.
  • Liaise with production and maintenance personnel to assist in process trouble shooting
  • Cover for site Metallurgist in his/her absence.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Recognised tertiary qualification in Metallurgy or related discipline. Preferably a degree in Metallurgy or related discipline.
  • Current and valid “C” class driver’s licence with the ability to operate manual vehicles.
  • Previous vocational experience in process plant operations is highly regarded.
  • High degree of competency in computer applications including Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
  • Ability to work in a team towards a common goal

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

Senior Production Engineer

Crocodile Gold NT Operations are currently seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join their Technical Services Department at their Cosmo Deeps Operation.

This position is responsible for managing the provision of high quality mine engineering services (primarily Drill & Blast activities) to the mining function and to support the safe and efficient attainment of weekly and monthly production targets.

Key Role Objectives

  • Champion the attainment of weekly and monthly mine production
  • Review and manage the timely delivery of drill and blast services to the mine
  • Coach, mentor and supervise Mining Engineers
  • Liaise closely with the Mine Planner to ensure linkage is maintained between the monthly plan and the quarterly rolling plan
  • Provide input and review into the mine design and associated mining activities
  • Provide production reporting and project studies as required
  • End of Month Mining Claim Preparation and reporting.
  • Stope reconciliation reporting.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Hard Rock UG mines.
  • Previous experience supervising the drill & blast function at an UG operation
  • Computer literate in mine planning software
  • Pro-active, self-starter capable of working in a small team of professionals.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of drill and blast techniques
  • Computer literate in office products.
  • High level of motivation
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

Senior Mine Accountant (Full-Time Contract Position – 12 Months)

We invite suitable applicants to apply for the Full-Time Contract position of Senior Mine Accountant. The initial contract commitment will be for 12 months with a possibility of the period being extended. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the purpose of this position is to oversee and implement the financial and compliance accounting functions within the Company and manage the Finance team.

 Duties include:

  • Providing effective communication, support, training and guidance to the Finance team
  • Control of month end accounting functions; ensuring accuracy and that deadlines are met
  • Ensure policies and procedures are developed, current and correct
  • Review monthly management reports and general ledger reconciliations
  • Coordinate and prepare annual budget and quarterly forecast packs
  • Manage quarterly and annual external audits and internal compliance reviews
  • Development of site reporting functions
  • Ensure the accuracy of data in the generation of the Trial Balance
  • Provide support to site users in understanding/analysing operating costs
  • Maintain and review of chart of accounts
  • FBT compliance and reporting
  • Management of employee novated lease arrangements
  • Promote health, safety and environment standards within team and monitor compliance

 Candidates will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting/Commerce
  • Membership of a professional organisation (CPA/CA)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in senior accounting role (including management/supervision of staff)
  • Minimum 3 years experience within the mining industry
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of business while working as a valued team member in the commercial group
  • Experience and knowledge of integrated accounting systems, strong Excel skills
  • Good organisational skills, ability to respond/complete requested projects within required deadlines
  • Be self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive and friendly
